Leading African law firm Bowmans has re-elected Ezra Davids as its Chairman and Senior Partner for a second five-year term, reaffirming the firm’s confidence in his leadership as it continues to expand its influence across the African continent and strengthen its position in the global legal market.
Davids’ second term will commence on 1 October 2026, following a first term that has been marked by significant strategic growth, deeper regional integration and continued recognition of Bowmans as one of Africa’s premier corporate law firms.
Announcing the re-election, Bowmans said Davids had led the firm “with vision and integrity,” overseeing a period during which the firm strengthened collaboration across its offices, expanded its footprint in key African markets and continued to deliver high-quality legal services to clients operating across multiple jurisdictions.
Davids, a highly respected mergers and acquisitions specialist, has built a distinguished career advising on some of the largest and most complex transactions undertaken on the African continent. Before becoming Chairman and Senior Partner in 2021, he served in several senior leadership positions within the firm and established himself as one of Africa’s foremost corporate lawyers.
The re-election also follows a year of continued recognition for Davids personally. Earlier this year, he received the Outstanding Contribution Award at the 2026 Chambers Africa Awards, recognising his longstanding impact on Africa’s legal profession and corporate legal practice.
As Bowmans enters its next chapter, Davids is expected to continue focusing on regional growth, innovation, talent development and helping clients navigate the rapidly changing legal, economic and geopolitical environment shaping business across Africa.
